5. Ongoing Community Well Project

It’s quite common for all communities to have a shared well, as a source of free water for families in the area. Families use water for everything from drinking, to washing, to bathing, to watering their crops. And, during the dry season, water is a true scarcity in Northern Nicaragua.

Although this is common, our community (Manzano 2) does not have a public well, and people are understandably suffering as a result of this.

Our goal is to raise enough money to bring a communal well to life. This would involve not only digging & installing the well, but also securing a portion of land for it.

Although our goal is lofty, we have high hopes for making it reality as our business continues to expand. And, of course, with your generosity and support.

Cost breakdown:

$20k: digging & well pump

$1k: large water tanks

$1.5K: well house

$5k: land

Total: $27.5k
