Hosting Your Own Retreat
-
Everything is laid out on our Terms of Booking page — give it a read before you book your dates.
If anything's unclear, just ask and we'll walk you through it.
-
Yes — hosting is what we're built for. Still Salty Escape is a turnkey retreat venue for yoga teachers, surf coaches, and wellness leaders. You bring your group; we handle lodging, chef-prepared meals, your yoga and meditation shalas, transportation, and on-site management.
It's one booking and one point of contact. See everything included on our Host a Retreat page.

If you're deciding where to run your next retreat, the deciding factors usually come down to cost, crowds, and the experience your group remembers.
Northern Nicaragua gives you an uncrowded, oceanfront setting seven minutes from consistent surf, farm-to-table food, and no neighbors or noise — at a price point well below Costa Rica, Tulum, or Bali.
That combination is hard to find, and it's why leaders who compare destinations keep choosing it.
Dig into the trade-offs in Costa Rica vs. Nicaragua for a Yoga Retreat and Best Affordable Places to Host a Yoga Retreat.
-
Costs vary with group size, dates, and whether you add surf, but Nicaragua is one of the most affordable places in the world to host a profitable retreat — meaningfully cheaper than Costa Rica or Bali for a comparable oceanfront setting.
We quote a simple per-person, all-inclusive rate so you can price your retreat with healthy margins.
For a full breakdown, read How Much Does It Cost to Host a Yoga Retreat?, then request a custom quote.

Up to 24 people when all rooms are shared — that number includes your co-teachers, organizer, and any staff.
We have 8 rooms total: four shared rooms with four single beds each (16 people) and four semi-private rooms with two single beds each (8 people), which can be combined into king beds and sold as private upgrades.
That flexibility lets you offer tiered room pricing to your guests.
-
Yes — we encourage it. If you're seriously considering hosting with us, we offer a complimentary 2-night site visit so you can experience the space, meet the team, and picture your retreat here.
Your stay includes lodging, on-site management, and full access to property amenities.
Food and activities aren't included, but we're glad to help you arrange them.
Reach out, and we'll coordinate dates around our calendar.
-
That depends on your pricing and inclusions, but because our per-person rate is all-inclusive and affordable, most leaders reach break-even at a modest group size and profit from there.
The flexible room setup (shared through private) lets you sell tiered pricing so a mixed group still pencils out.
Tell us your target numbers and we'll help you model it.

Every retreat booking includes lodging, three chef-prepared, farm-to-table meals per full day with morning snacks.
We provide built-in use of the Yoga Shala and Meditation Shala, a private pool, free WiFi, full access to property amenities, an on-site Retreat Manager, and Nicaragua sales tax.
Surf add-ons — boards, instructors, daily lessons, and transport to the breaks — are available for surf-and-yoga retreats.
Additional activities like mangrove tours, volcano hikes, sandboarding, fishing, baby sea turtle release, massage, organic farm tour, local cooking class, salsa lesson, temazcal, and more are available for add-on purchase.
See the full inclusions on the Host a Retreat page.
-
Yes, a few ways. Multi-week bookings — trainings and back-to-back retreats like YTTs — get a better per-week rate the longer you stay.
We also offer returning retreat teacher discounts for hosts who come back and run with us again, and off-season discounts for dates outside the peak window.
Tell us what you're planning, and we'll put together the best rate we can.
-
You don't pay everything at once. We hold your dates with a deposit and collect the balance on a schedule leading up to your retreat, so you're not fronting the full cost before your guests have paid you.
We're happy to talk through a payment plan that works with your own sign-up timeline.
Just ask when we quote you. Full terms are on our Terms of Booking page.
-
Not at all. We've helped dozens of first-time leaders run their debut retreat, and our team handles the logistics so you can focus on your students.

-
Yes. The setting — calm nature, nourishing food, two dedicated shalas — is ideal for immersive teacher trainings.
We host 200-hour, 300-hour, and 100-hour continuing-education courses.
And because trainings often run longer than a standard retreat, we offer discounted rates for multi-week bookings like YTTs.
The more weeks you book, the better the per-week rate.
Tell us your format and dates, and we'll build a custom quote around it.
-
Yes — this is one of our strongest offerings. We're a working surf and yoga retreat venue on Nicaragua's northern Pacific coast, seven minutes from consistent, uncrowded breaks, and we host a lot of women's surf and yoga retreats.
We provide boards, instructors, daily lessons, and transport to the surf, so surf-focused and combo leaders can run their whole program without sourcing gear or guides.
-
Definitely. Plenty of our hosts run multi-modality retreats — breathwork, cold plunge, hiking, meditation, sound healing — not just yoga.
The property works for any group that wants nature, quiet, nourishing food, and space to gather.
If your format needs something specific, ask us and we'll tell you what's possible.
-
Of course. Your co-teachers, assistants, and organizers all count toward the 24-guest capacity, and the flexible rooms make it easy to house your team.
You run your program your way — we handle the venue, food, and logistics underneath it.
-
Nicaragua's dry season (roughly late November through April) is peak retreat season with the most reliable sun, and the wind and swell stay surf-friendly much of the year.
Popular dates book 6–12 months out, so the earlier you reach out the better your choice of week.
Ask us about current availability.
Joining a Surf & Yoga Retreat
-
No experience needed. Our surf instructors coach complete beginners through to intermediate surfers, matching each session to your level.
The waves on Nicaragua's northern coast include gentle, forgiving beach breaks that are perfect for learning. Curious how quickly it clicks?

It's one booking and one point of contact. See everything included on our Host a Retreat page.
-
None required. Classes are all-levels and adaptable, so whether it's your first downward dog or your thousandth, you'll feel at home.
Surfing and yoga pair naturally — the mobility and breathwork make you a better, calmer surfer.
-
Nicaragua has surfable waves year-round thanks to near-constant offshore winds.
For beginners, the shoulder months offer smaller, cleaner waves and warm water, while the dry season pairs the best weather with reliable surf.
We'll always match sessions to conditions and your comfort level.
-
Lodging, three fresh farm-to-table meals a day (plus a hearty morning snack), daily yoga in the shala, a private pool, WiFi, and on-site staff who take care of the details.
Surf and yoga retreats also include board rentals, instruction, and transport to the breaks.
You show up; we handle the rest.
-
Yes — our guests and hosts consistently tell us how safe and cared-for they feel here.
We're on a quiet stretch of the northern Pacific coast, away from the busier tourist corridors, with on-site staff around the clock.

Most guests fly into Managua (MGA). From there, it's a scenic transfer to the northern coast, which we can help arrange.
Full directions and transfer options are in our guide, How to Get to Northern Nicaragua.
Let us know your flights, and we'll help you plan the last leg.
-
Yes — three chef-prepared healthy meals a day are included for each full day of the retreat. A light morning snack is available each morning of the retreat.
All meals are made fresh with local ingredients.
We happily accommodate common dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, allergies) with advance notice.

Days flow with the coast:
an early surf session or morning yoga, a fresh breakfast, free time to nap by the pool or explore, an afternoon activity or second surf, evening yoga, then dinner and sunset.
Every host builds their own itinerary, so the exact rhythm is up to your retreat leader — but the pace is restorative, not rushed.
You'll have plenty of time to move, rest, and connect.
-
Very much so. A lot of our guests arrive on their own and leave with a whole new group of friends — the shared meals, small group size, and communal setting make it easy to connect.
It's a safe, welcoming place to travel solo, and our on-site team looks after everyone throughout the week.
-
The property has shared and semi-private, and private rooms in a natural, coastal style, all with access to the pool, gardens, hammocks, and full amenities.
Your retreat leader sets the room options with their pricing, so you may be able to choose a shared room or a private upgrade depending on the retreat.
Rooms come with either garden or ocean views, AC or fan-powered for cooling. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms.
Either way, expect comfortable, simple rooms steps from the ocean.
-
Plenty. Depending on your retreat, hosts add experiences like:
A sunset boat tour, cooking class, sea-turtle release, salsa lessons, horseback riding on the beach, fishing, massages, and temazcal — plus hammocks, the pool, and endless stargazing.
There's always time to do more or do nothing at all.
-
That's set by the retreat leader hosting your week, not by us directly. Most retreat leaders do offer deposits and payment plans rather than one lump sum.
All Still Salty Escape retreats (like our Salty Surf Package) only require a deposit to reserve, rather than full payment upfront.
If you're eyeing a specific retreat, ask the host about their payment schedule; most are happy to work with you so cost isn't a barrier to joining.
Good to Know
-
Yes — we have friendly dogs who roam the property freely and may say hello to guests. They're part of the Still Salty Escape family.
-
A surf camp is usually surf-focused and social; a retreat blends surfing with intention — yoga, rest, good food, and community.
We lean retreat: a balanced, restorative week, not a bootcamp.
